Ecept when Knophler wrote it, and Dire Straits recorded it, it was called “Fool In Love.” I never understood why it was retitled when Carpenter covered it.
Ummm…I’m looking at the CD of On Every Street right now, and it says “The Bug.”
I could have sworn it was on the same EP that featured “Twisting By The Pool”, and was called “Fool In Love.” But I can’t find a cite in my defense anywhere, and so conceed this.

It’s entirely possible that the title was changed between the EP and the LP. But a noble concession, none the less. Well-spoken, the act of a true gentleman.
