My Mother: Blood is thicker than water.

My Father’s response: No, blood is just thick.

In Ireland thick can also mean stupid or slow.

I thought it was clever.  
Mine? Upon wooing a woman at a bar I was impressing her with my wit. She noted that she always goes for ‘bad guys’.

I told her that my philosophy was to ‘treat them mean to keep them keen’ and that once I had them (and they were acting up) then it was ‘the back of the hand and you’re soon in command’

I think I cam up with both myself. Regardless, I got laid which is sad on many levels.
