Wait, now boi means gay? Possibly? Or bi? I think I’ll just go back to being Asian. I was never that big a fan of the letter Z anyway. Besides, ‘boi’ makes me think it’s like pseudo-French or something and should be pronounced ‘bwa’. ---

It’s not about disliking a particular ethnicity. I have no doubts that TP is fully tolerant of asians, the man lives in Tokyo for Og’s sake. The simple idea that a white male, has _only ever_ wanted to be asian was to pick up on a woman that fancies them is insensitive, at worst. I don’t think TP realizes the degree to which an Asian American male might have to deal with expections regarding the so called American aesthetic first hand. Seriously, take a walk down to the OC and count the asians wearing abercrombie, roxy, and express. ---

You’re so, so absolutly completely right, there is no way that I could ever picture difficulties fitting perfectly into a culture because you don’t look the same as everyone else. I was just talking to my American friend, with a Japanese wife, whose 13 year old daughter, is a bit taller than everyone else and is distraught with her racial differences. Do you know what we talked about? That’s right! We’ve got a winner here! Give the man in the front row a T shirt, worn by the Asian model on _I Can_. We talked about football. Because we’re both white, so it could never occur to us the difficulties than people outside our own ethnical group may have, even though we both minorities now, and have marital ties to that ethnical group and a combined residence of almost 40 years. You don’t have to get annoyed at me for feeling offended enough by the initial insensitivity of your statement to speak up about it. It’s like a single guy saying to his married friend, “Fucking married men. Why can’t I be married?” and having the married guy say, “You can’t be serious.” Regardless of the humorous intent of the initial statement, its plainly insensitive enough to be responded to. Replace single and married with practically anything you like, that still doens’t change the response. ---

I’ve never met **TP** in person, but from what I’ve known of him on the boards, I don’t know many more men who love their wife as much, and share a huge respect for the Japanese culture and people. If you want to be mad at anyone I think the most offensive thing about this thread was my choice of title, which was meant to be sort of mocking of “stupid white guy” sees a cute young woman of apparent Asian descent.
