Don’t let him do it! Think of ll those who started this way and ended up as regulars at the Betty Ford.
If he actually gets into an ad on a national basis, please clue us in. Good luck to him… and your Ferrari.
Not if Bricker does as many show biz parents seem to do. The kid slaves away and makes a mint, while the 'rents live high on the hog. Only our Bricker is too smart for that. Instead, dastardly Bricker hides what he’s not using to support his jet set lifestyle in a Cayman islands account. Or are you more the Swiss bank account type Bricker? When did you stop beating your wife, sir?
Your Ferrari should be red. Ferraris should always be red, like Magnum P.I.
I don’t know what the law is in Virginia, but in California and New York at least, a percentage of a child actor’s earnings have to be paid into a trust fund on behalf of the actor which the parents can’t touch. Which I guess doesn’t stop the parents from living high on the remainder of said hog but at least the kids shouldn’t be left destitute at 18.
I’m torn between making a lame joke about making sure you consult someone competent to ensure Bricker Jr. isn’t fleeced on the contract and referencing whichever Fudge book it is where the title character is in a Big Wheel ad and gets paid in Oreos.
In any event, skip the Ferrari and buy the lime-green hatchback. It’s a thing of beauty.
Eh. I did some modeling as a young child (no, really; my mom won’t let me scan the photo because it would mean tearing the catalog up). I got fifty bucks for a few hours’ work.
If Bricker’s old enough to follow instructions and the photographer is used to working with kids, I don’t see the harm in doing it once, for the fun and experience of doing it. It’s the stage parents and kids whose lives and self-esteem are tied into their appearance who have the problems.
Actually, having read Call Me Anna, I was heartily impressed with Patty Duke’s decision - after having her own youthful earnings squandered by her managers, when her sons wanted to go into acting, she and her husband not only put 100% of the kids’ earnings into a trust fund, but also paid for everything - even expenses that would normally come out of a kid’s salary, like acting lessons and photographer’s fees, out of their pockets. In the unlikely event that Bricker Jr actually took off down this road, we’d probably do that…
