Skeezix, although my dad is usually pretty level-headed about all of this, the whole rush-to-the-hospital-in-the-middle-of-the-night thing had him freaking out a bit, too. Nowhere near the level of my mom, of course.
Well Coldfire darling, they didn’t remove 2 tubes, 2 ovaries, a uterus and a big 2 lb cyst from your dad either. At least I hope not ! If they did then I think your Dad may have something to tell you ** and ** your Mom.
Oh yeah, that shower thing with the water washing the incision out, not fun.
Actually, his incision was pretty much from 5 centimeters above the navel to, uh, the package. It’s just that the part that accidentally opened up again was rather small.
With the prostate operation, they have to get all your guts out so they can get to it, all the way to the back of the pelvis.
But you’re right: they didn’t find any female plumbing down there. 
Oh, my. I’m so sorry. I just found this thread. Unfortunately I know what you’re feeling. In my case it wasn’t a cyst and a hysterectomy; it was my c-section incision that decided to pop open and get infected on me. Not fun having that cleaned out several times a day with a q-tip, then stuffed with that gauze.
I sure hope you are healing up now, and doing much better. Do please give us an update, Aye. I’ve missed you on here.
And Coldy, I am so sorry to hear your dad went through all that as well. I do hope he is doing well now. shudders
