I cannot Leave Saudi Arabia

Woo!

So, decided on a new username yet?

I’m out in the desert, so I don’t see many towns and cities in Yemen. Al Qaida recently said that all tourists in Yemen are fair game as are all oil facilities. There is continuous fighting in the North between the government and the Houthi’s. There are demonstrations in the South, supposedly organized by the former South Yemen military leaders, and prices are rising while, their only real source of outside income, oil is depleting. I’d not recommend coming here to visit or work at the moment.

Welcome back.

Well, the story’s over, but Production was so proud of their hard work that I didn’t want to disappoint them…

I’m glad I moved to somewhere safer.

Hey, where’d you go to? Do they have any openings (notice, I didn’t wait to hear where he is currently)?
I’m not to worried about this area at the moment. Marib is tense. Apparently, some terrorists blew themselves up trying to figure out how a mortar worked (dropped the pointy end in the tube first I expect!) in an attack against the old Hunt facilities over there. Mukhalla has also had some demonstrations. The ones in Aden were nasty as the police opened fire on the crowd and several were killed.

It is a shame really. Very nice people. Superb beaches if only they could be allowed to open them up to tourists. The sea life is amazing, from the few videos I’ve seen.

I had read that fighting in the north (Saada) was “over” not sure how “over”.

Shame - since on our last visit to Yemen, my wife spent most of the time in the hospital and hotel with bronchitis. We had hoped to return in the fall.

The rumor now is that the government is suppressing news of the fighting in that area. It is pretty continuous, although maybe not at a high intensity. At least this is what I’ve been led to believe.

That’s very nice work, Nametag.
