In one of them, there was a scene with small pet animals (not sure what they were) using a _beer funnel_. I was 9 and 10 years old when I was watching this show! Then again, this was the _Ren and Stimpy_ era, so I guess beer funnels seemed tame by comparison.

Rocko’s Modern Life rocks. I get it so much better now that I’m older.

I’d always liked Ren and Stimpy growing up - so did my sister, and my parents. Although they always laughed at stuff that we didn’t find funny.

My sister bought the first two seasons on DVD the other day and we watched some of them, and were like, horrified. “I can’t believe they had this on Nickelodeon!” my sister said. “We were _little_!”

Proof that a lot of kids, us included, were completely oblivious.

I’m just rooting for them to bring R&S to Adult Swim. That’d be awsome.

Something that always cracked me up, though I wouldn’t say it’s an ‘I can’t believe they got away with it’ moment: On one of the earlier “Rugrats” episodes, the parents took Tommy to a doctor named “Dr. LePetomaine.” If it hadn’t been for the Straight Dope, I wouldn’t have gotten the joke.

“Le Petomaine” was a French performance artist, also called “The Fartiste,” who specialized in…well…artistic farting.

When I was little, I was surprised Rugrats could get away with saying “Lipshitz” but I guess it’s the character’s name, so what can they do about it.

South Park: There is a restaurant called City Wok that comes up occasionally. The guy who works there has an accent so when he says “city” it sounds like “shitty”… “Welcome to Shitty Wok. Please try the shitty chicken.” Not to mention the infamous episode where they said “shit” or a variant thereof some 200 times.

Family Guy: May have been released on DVD only, but still pretty sneaky.

(reading off the side of a van, which is only partially visible) Quagmire’s Cross-Country Tour, huh?
Yup.
Say, doesn’t “country” have an “o” in it?
(slight pause) Nope!

How do you pronounce the movie title “$”? Until you tell me otherwise, I’m assuming it’s “ch-ching”

“Sneed’s Seed and Feed formerly Chuck’s”

I don’t get it. Please explain.

From Family Guy :

Peter: Just don’t forget our deal, Lois. I sit through this and later tonight I get anal. You hear me? No matter how neat I want the house you have to clean it.

What I think is the dirtiest double entendre in _Simpsons_ history, even though it just refers to sex in general:

After seeing a sex education film with cartoon rabbits:
Girl: Is there a Mr. Krabbapel?
Mrs Krabbapel: There used to be. Until he tried to chase something small and furry down a rabbit hole.

I’ve been watching the Disney/Henson sitcom _Dinosaurs_ on DVD, and some of the jokes in that show are rather ribald for a TV show released under the Walt Disney label (as opposed to the Touchstone label, as most of Buena Vista’s TV shows are). One of the more shocking ones (at least by Disney standards): Earl is watching a puppet show where all the men are played by sock puppets and the women are pantyhose. After seeing his son with two women, the father sock shouts, “Get that pair of hose out of this house!”

Pretty much everything in the TV version of _Little Britain_ leaves me open-jawed trying to work out how they could not only think they could film it, but get it on free-to-air TV.

Case in point: Other characters frequently remark that Daffyd Thomas, the “Only Gay In The Village” really needs “A good hard cock up his arse” or that he’s missing out on the chance for “some Bum Fun”!

Some of the stuff in _Duckman_ was quite risque, but one of my favourites was a strip club called “Wanker’s”. 😃

Quite a lot of the stuff on _Not The Nine O’Clock News_ was also very… cutting edge, as far as humour went.

_Family Guy, The Simpsons, American Dad_, and _South Park_ are all chock-full of stuff I’m amazed they can show on free-to-air TV… yet I’m glad they do! 😃

> Yet another Rocko example…the carnival episode actually has the word “hell” written out on a sign. Not only that, but at the beginning, one “satisfied” customer gives the thumbs up, only to have his thumb fall off and bits of blood squirt out. Although I don’t think Rocko airs on Nickelodeon anymore, it still airs on the spinoff “Nicktoons TV” and I’m pretty sure they still show this episode, surprisingly.

One of my favourite episodes of “Rocko” has Rocko and Heifer going to a dude ranch. Somehow Heifer gets put into the dairy with the cows for milking, and while standing behind a mid-height wooden barrier a farm hand comes along and attaches a milking machine to him. First there’s a shot of Hef looking shocked, then his eyes kind of cross and he gets a crooked, wobbly smile on his face.

Awesome.

This thread is old by now, but I saw something today that I was flabbergasted at. It was on Taste of America, a show I had never really paid attention to before.

Well, they were cooking geoduck. Ever see one of those? If not, look at this proud [owner](http://www.nefsc.noaa.gov/faq/images/geoduck.jpg). It safe for work, but sure doesn’t look like it.

Anyway, they were cooking it, and she was removing the shell. These beasts have a tendency to squirt leftover water when provoked. This one, as she was removing the shell, did just that, onto her chest.

Without missing a beat, the host replied, “kinda reminds you of prom, doesn’t it?”

Awesome.
