I found it! It was where it was supposed to be, but covered up by some dirty clothes. 
Ernie is exonerated. For that flip-flop, at least. Good luck finding your white card, 5-4. (You might check the dirty clothes in the corner. In the pocket of those jeans?)

I feel your pain. My puppy stole one of my flip flops late in October. They are my favorite footwear, and even though the temperature was dropping fast, I missed them terribly.
I found the other flip flop two days ago! Wedged behind the green couch in a way that made it undetectable to the naked eye.
Devilishly clever puppy!
Part of it is red. The other part is Cat Spit color.
Due to the teething issues of my puppy, I have a spare flip flop. It’s mate met a tragic fate…all the pretty beads ripped from it, the sole mauled, the straps, mere remnants of the flip of its past.
Then I have its mate right over here…
