I can’t go to the quite study room to study or do programming because the final examination period is over and it is the end of the semester and people think I am odd, crazy, weird, loser, nerd etc. if they see me doing something in the quite study room of the college. I once going to my room with my bag from the QSA (quite study area), and a friend of mine saw me and said to me “WTF is wrong with you? Go to the common room (where the party was taking place at that time) and try to get some pussy.” I felt hurt and offended. Yet another issue: I was solving some sort of math questions and a guy saw me and told me I was crazy because I told him I was studying math for fun. I have to get over this but I don’t know how. I sometimes get so mad that I want to do some school shooting but then I think it would be like a reward for those non-studying people because their death would be quick. But I quickly recover from this illegal and sort of immoral idea and start to think normally again. ---

So they’re letting 8-year-olds into college these days? And they’re being taught that if you misspell a word enough times, it becomes correct? And should you be reported, based on your last paragraph? ---

I take it that English is not your first language so I’ll pass on the spelling/grammar. Otherwise, there is an English phrase that applies to your situation. “Fuck’em” If you want to go to the quiet room, go to the quiet room. If you want to study math, study math. Tell anyone who thinks you should do otherwise to fuck off. Oh, and don’t shoot anyone. ---

sorry but if this is a joke, not cool if you are for real, sorry for saying it is a joke you are obviously a bit nerdy and different from other people so am I! so are a lot of people to tell you the truth try to make friends more like you and don’t worry about what other people think so much ---

**Maverock** , Where are you going to school? Most colleges/universities have summer classes that would have study (quiet) rooms. I don’t know of a college where a quiet study room isn’t available. Are you in the USA? ---

Hahaha 😃 Nice sense of humor you have. I am a meek person who cannot even hold a weapon. Internet is a place where I relieve my anger. This is why I wrote about shooting. In the country where I live I can’t buy a weapon. It is very difficult to buy one. And I believe this is good. Thanks a lot for the reply. I am attending an university in Europe. Here we have many quiet study rooms but my problem is not having one or “not having” one. The problem here is people who sort of disdain those who are nerdy. They make me talk like I did in my first post, and then people criticize me for talking like that. I am not saying they are not right in doing so. The OP was emotional; I relieved my anger and that is it. I have no intention of shooting. I only imagine. ---

Not that there is ever any appropriate time, but this week is REALLY not the time to vent one’s anger by talking about shooting up college students. MaverocK, you are welcome here at Straight Dope, but please do not post here about harming others. With that I am closing this thread.
