I can't put this off any longer

Well, for us non-meat eaters in the crowd, a little rice to cut the beans is a good thing.

I mean, thats A LOT of beans all on their own.

But… but I thought earlier you said…

Oh! I get it! [Gilda]Never mind…[/Gilda]

I actually have no issue with potatos - some of the best burritos I’ve had were chorizo, cheese, jalapeno and potato.

Rice, while an excellent food on it’s own, simply does not belong in a burrito. It’s like putting avacado on a pizza. It may be hip, but hip does not equal good.

grumble Chorizo.

La Bamba’s used to serve a burrito longer than my forearm. Beans, chorizo, assorted appropriate veggies, cheese and their special salsa, which was brewed with beer.

Guaranteed to lay you up for an entire evening. Eating that burrito was like swallowing a stick of dynamite. In a good way, of course.

If you go to the hole-in-the-wall places in Pilsen, the ones with no name where nobody speaks English, or even at my friend Marisa’s house, they will still put rice in your burrito. I always assumed it was authentic, but then I never ate that stuff at the source.

I love rice in my burritto.

Rice, beans, cheese. If I have these, I have a meal.

It’s a 1920’s style “bean, beef and cheese” burrito.

Leading (2 Hrs later) to 1920’s style death farts.

And remember, kids, if you’re cutting the beans, you aren’t cutting the cheese.

What?
