I just read a GQ thread that referenced Catch-22. Thing is … if another poster hadn’t mentioned “Catch-22”, I wouldn’t have remembered the quote. But as soon as I saw “Catch-22”, I had that “_ **OH** _ yeah” feeling. A couple of hours ago someone said “You guys remember that quote from Star Wars about Luke hitting a \ with his laser from \?”. Oh, yeah, I remembered it; that scene still makes me laugh my ass off. Do I remember the exact quote? Of COURSE not. Some people can quote movie lyrics. Some people can tell you what song was written by whom and what album it appeared on by what artist in what year. Me? My response? “HE sang that? No kidding?”. See, I remember _stuff_. Every now and again that _stuff_ matches up with trivia, and even more rarely that _stuff_ matches up with the conversation at hand. It’s akin to that feeling you get half an hour after an argument. You know what I mean. Twenty minutes later you slap yourself upside the head and say “Ah, shit, I should’ve said _fill in the blank_”. THAT’S why I don’t spend much time in GD or GQ. I know and/or have heard the answers someplace; I just can’t quite … Well, I KNOW that response is wrong. I just can’t think of why, til someone more eloquent comes along and disproves the theory. What, you want a conclusion? Sheesh. This isn’t GD, ya know 😉 ---

You’re not alone, it happens to me all the time too. I hate when I’m in the middle of a conversations and I can’t remember the word I want in english and I have to say it in spanish and hope everyone else understands, or or just guess the word. Its a little irksome. ---

My dad said he had that, and that it became worse as he grew older. ---

I know what you mean **chique**. I have a similar problem…I only remember _stupid_ shit. Can I remember my phone number from the house I moved out of when I was seven? Yup. Will I ever call that number? No, of course not (I might accidentally cause a rift in the space-time continuum, destroying the world as we know it by talking to myself as a child, but I digress). Am I sure of the phone number of my current job? No, not really…I think I know it, but I’m not sure if the last digit is a 4 or a 5. Should I know that? Of course I should! I think my problem is that my brain is full of outdated and useless knowledge, and when I try to learn something new, there is no room to store it. Yeah. Rose ---
