You have every right to be angry and sad. I’m trying. I just felt it was my place to step in and stick up for the OP. He shouldn’t feel guilty for using whatever means necessary to have a family. Since I might have to use this option down the road, I felt like I was defending MY right to have a child as well. Some people may think I flew off the handle in my post to **VC03** , but I don’t think he quite understood what he was saying and how hurtful it is. Even after it was explained to him, he still just blew us off about it. If he hadn’t of been so flippant and apologized, maybe this thread would have turned out differently. I’m sad about it, but I’m not sorry. Between him and **Greathouse** , I think I have met two of the most vile people here. The thread speaks for itself. ---

Hey **Greathouse** , how about you STFU? And stay out of threads like this one in the future, huh? I think your opinion is valid, but there’s a time and a place and this is the wrong time and the wrong place for you to be mouthing off. Would you go to the families of the miners in West Virginia and loudly proclaim it was their own damn fault they’re dead because they chose to go into the mine? That’s what you sound like here. \*\*Max \*\* is having a tough time, and came here to vent. Anyone who knows how these kinds of threads work knows that a lot of people with similar experiences and opinions would join the thread to commiserate. Regardless of whether you agree with anyone here, you should respect the need and value of people in pain commiserating with each other. It doesn’t matter if you don’t share their pain. Go start a GD thread on fertility, or go start a Pit rant on how everyone who doesn’t share your worldview is an idiot. If the subject of fertility came up in passing, and she responded as she did, I would say she needed to tone it down. But this is in the context of a thread specifically started by someone in emotional distress over having been mistreated by a fertility clinic, looking for some support. In that context, her comments are appropriate, if a bit harsh. The response she recieved was \*entirely \* inappropriate. What makes this tragic is that \*\*Max \*\* will undoubtedly not come back to this thread. The guy’s in a really tough place and just needed to reach out a bit. Instead he got this thread filled with spam criticizing people who go to fertility clinics - responses which did not belong here in the first place. Now we’ll never know how this will come out for him and that’s a damn shame. If I were a mod, I’d be invoking the “don’t be a jerk” rule. But hey, I ain’t a mod. ---
