Well…if one plays Football Manager, or follows the English Premier League, it would make perfect sense.

But sure I’ll spell it out:

Newcastle were bought by Saudi Arabia and have a shitton of money to spend on the team. But Newcastle are so shit, they will get relegated. And when I buy the game next year, I’ll get to play as Newcastle in the Championship with a ‘billion’ pounds to spend.
