I don’t see why it would be any more relevant than the Macarena. And what is this fascination with “silly” dance? Why not a serious dance? ---

I think the enormous number of views is driven by the fad of groups all over the globe getting together to make their own versions; think of it: each member of these groups popping up like mushrooms after a rainy night must be watching the video over and over and over to get the moves down. Quite a multiplier effect. ---
