OK, I’m not entirely sure that this wasn’t from a TV show, but I’m thinking it was a movie. I want to say it was something like Wayne’s World or Dude, Where’s My Car? but unfortunately I can’t remember exactly what it was. The scene that I’m trying to place here goes like this: It’s a brief scene, in which the main characters are running outside in an urban setting while a lightning storm is raging. They turn a corner (or something like that) and come across a heavy metal band performing an outdoor concert during the storm. Lightning strikes the stage (or possibly a band member) and the heavy metal dudes apparently think it’s the most metal thing ever, because they keep on playing and the guitar player launches into a blistering solo. Some details are obviously fuzzy here, but that was the gist of the scene I think I remember. Anyone? ---

Could it have been animated? Because I sort of remember a scene like this in an episode of the Adult Swim show _Metalocalypse_… ---

Total long shot, but there was a pretty cheesy hair band video at the start of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors…did that scene happen there? ---

Well, it’s good to eliminate the wrong guesses if nothing else, so thanks, everyone. I think control-z might be on to something with the Jack Black connection; it sounds like it might be a Tenacious D type of moment, but I’m not sure. I haven’t found anything on Youtube with searches for “lightning” and “stage” or “band” or anything yet. Maybe it was just a particularly vivid dream. ---

I can see it in my mind’s eye pretty clearly (except for the faces, of course): a few characters are running, possibly from a bad guy, or possibly to try to get someplace in a hurry, and there’s a storm raging. They’re running down an alley or street, and there’s an outdoor concert going on. One of the band members (might be the lead singer) gets hit by lightning, and the crowd goes wild because IT’S SO METAL! and then the guitar player launches into a furious solo. That much I’m almost certain of. Minor details might be different, but the gist of it is there. Other possible candidates: any of the Bill & Ted movies, some of the Kevin Smith movies with Jay & Silent Bob… well, pretty much any comedy in which one of the main gags is the rock and roll lifestyle. Come to think of it, another possibility is FUBAR. Might have to check on that. ---

I’m pretty sure it’s not a Kevin Smith/Jay and Silent Bob movie, I’ve seen most of them several times. I haven’t seen the Bill & Ted movies but sounds like their sort of thing. ---
