This is not a picture of my dog, but it looks a lot like her when she was a puppy. Pretty cute, huh? All the puppies on this thread, except the poor critter posted by **Eve** , are very very cute, hard to choose a winner.
I get the feeling your sister won’t be able to resist that lil newfie…

Hee. I get that a lot. Yes, his eyes are of a different color - one is blue, the other is brown. Both are perfectly functional. This is a very common trait in Australian Shepherds. My other aussie, Zap, has two amber eyes, but one is flecked (marbled) with blue. Very striking 😉

ivylass (and others interested in aussie eyes)… here are some pictures taken by the photographer when Pirate was 5 months old. You can clearly see the two tones. His brown eye actually also has some small indigo flecks in it. Really cool. Aussie eyes are part of what drew me to the breed in the first place…

Ooh! I grew up with a Saint. I loved that dog.
Sister says she might not be able to get the dog. She doesn’t have a fenced yard and the breeder requires one. _sob_
More pictures of puppies of whatever age requested. I mean, this is a challenge after all. It’s in the interests of science!

Squee! Aussies! Pirate is a red merle, right? They’re so incredibly pretty. We’re looking into getting another Aussie (or another herding dog), since ours had a bad run-in with a bull and doesn’t like to work cattle anymore. She’s a wonderfully friendly dog and is such a part of the family we can’t imagine getting rid of her. Anyway, I’m hoping we get a merle. Princess is a tri-color, but I’m in love with merles.
Oh, puppies. Yet another baby animal my parents have forbidden me to touch because they’re afraid it’ll follow me home . . . because I’ve smuggled it into my purse.

Yep, Miss Purl! There are some great breeders of great working aussies out there. Right now I’m to my max in dogs (ayee!) but I do have my eye on a couple working bred litters, if you want some heads’ up… (drop me a line at mhboyer at gmail dot com if you want!)
