I’m actually complaining more about other boards I’m on, but I noticed it starting to pop up on here and freaked… I may be irony-challenged when it comes to that phrase, since it certainly is NOT being used ironically on other boards… And yeah, I definitely know this is a very Gay-positive board. **Wolf** - Nice to see someone use “teh” with something other than “gay”… and **Larry** - Holland? I don’t know if they have irony there… Went there once for a week once, but they spoke Dutch, so it went past me… ---

You wrote “Neanderthals” and I read “Netherlands.” :smack: :smack: Which is an even stupider mistake since Holland is one of the most gay-friendly countries out there, IIRC. I thought they might have passed some new anti-gay law or something. I’m obviously up way too late. Must go to bed before I make an even stupider mistake. ---

Umm… maybe I’m just missing the pertinent posts, but nearly all of the times I’ve seen the “teh gay” and/or “caught teh gay” phrases used on SDMB (and a lot of other sites), it’s being used in (what I understood to be) a clearly ironic sense. As in, the poster using it is making fun of how bigots talking about and percieve homosexuality. But as I said, I probably just missed the posts where it was being used in the fashion the OP feels it is; people wouldn’t use it in an ironic fashion if others wheren’t previously using it while being serious. ---
