# I disagree with this moderation by Czarcasm

Must be something else going on there besides the title, or even the TMI. It’s not the longest title I’ve ever seen in my days of the SDMB, nor is it even unreasonably long.
Also, compared to some of the stuff I’ve seen here, it’s not even that TMI.

There are tons of threads with “way, way, way, way, way more TMI” than this one.
In fact, it was a normal and valid question, and the kind of question that it is really hard to ask anywhere _other_ than an anonymous message board.
I can’t help but think it was closed because wolfman said he might not subscribe.

I was going to suggest that perhaps the OP was by a returning sock, which **Czarcasm** had detected, but given the listed join date and number of posts, that is wrong. Doesn’t really seem like trolling, either.
So I too am bewildered. 😕

It was the content and not the title. I happened to agree with the OP that it was, indeed, “way, way, way, way, way TMI”. Now, if you feel that there are other threads that are worse, feel free to call them to my attention and I’ll take a look at them.

As for calling other TMI threads to your attention…uh, sorry but seeing how you handled the tread in question…I don’t think so.
In my opinion the offending thread was maybe just barely TMI. It was actually an interesting question and I would have liked to read some more opinions on the matter. So much for enlightening the masses I guess.

To name but a few. But this is not news to you. I assume that as a moderator who has been here longer than I have that you have seen threads like this remain open for far longer than I have. Bottom line is that that particular thread was well within the culture of the SDMB. If you guys want to change things, fine and good, but it is simply a matter of good faith to tell people about the changes so that we all at least have a shot at following the new order. Capricious acts by those in authority are cause for resentment.

Don’t know if this has anything to do with anything, but I am pretty sure Cecil has a classic column on “How many calories are in the male ejaculate?”. If the great one can spew out some information on the topic, why not the rest of us?

I think this is about the long standing ideal of “raising the tone of the board,” which is usually invoked when they lock down the more sexually explict threads. Which is really amazingly square, if you ask me, but whatever.

Sure, and if they want to do that all is well and good. The problem that I have (in addition to agreeing with your “square” assessment) is that it seems to be rather random. I have no problem with rules changing. Life is, after all, dynamic. I am a big boy, and fully capable of either following explicit rules, or voting with my feet if I find that I cannot live with them. I do, however, have a deep-seated mistrust of authority figures that flex their muscles in an unpredictable way. It lacks class.

I have to agree that the description of why the thread was closed should have been more accurate, and also that it shouldn’t have been closed to begin with. If a thread about frying up jizz remains open, one about a genuine sexual difficulty where a person might find some help shouldn’t be off-limits. IMHO, of course.
