Which makes it appropriately contemporaneous with the original thread. That’s a feature.
It was 13 years ago, but I think I was just making a joke. I otherwise have no idea who I could have been referring to.
I’ve been distracted watching The Big Bang Theory ever since someone (I think in a previous thread here) pointed out that the four main characters are almost always wearing the same outfit. Leonard wears a jacket over a hoodie over a t-shirt, Sheldon wears a short-sleeve t-shirt with a geeky design over a full-sleeve t-shirt, and so on. It’s always the same for all of them, plus it seems way too many layers for sunny Southern California.
Raj is the worst offender: he wears a track jacket over a knit sweater over a button-down shirt over a white t-shirt. How he doesn’t erupt into flames, I have no idea.
(And, yes, I’ve noticed the same thing during recent re-watchings of TBBT.)
You have to remember, people in Southern California think they’re going to freeze to death if the temperature drops below 65.
Except for Penny, who always makes sure her, uh, collarbone & sternum get fresh air at all times.
Is that why?
Mind. Blown.
Geeks who almost never go outdoors outside of to and from work, and never exercise, feel much colder than the average guy. Add to that the body image issues that many geeks (and plenty others) feel, and lots of clothes is not unrealistic to my eyes.
At least in the early seasons, definitely. As time went on, the character stopped dressing like a teenager.
