Oh, please. We all know robots are everywhere, and they eat old people’s medicine for fuel. That’s why I have a policy with Old Glory Insurance specifically to cover me in the event of robot attack. ---

I am willing to admit a little Luddite-style apprehension in terms of new technologies. For instance, how would _you_ like to go through extensive training and study to become board-certified in cytopathology, and then pick up a newspaper and read that **dogs** can detect cancerous elements in urine? I’m afraid that I will come to work some day soon and find my stuff piled in the hall and a Labrador retriever lolling in my chair, slurping coffee out of my mug and eagerly awaiting the day’s urine-sniffing activities.\* \*Seeing as how my two dogs love piss (manufacturing as well as savoring it), they will probably be among the first to line up for interviews. ---

I saw on the news not too long ago that these things, as per **Dead Badger** ’s link above, are being tested as doctor-substitutes to make rounds. All I can say is I would be utterly creeped out, not to mention put off, by a fucking robot coming up to my bedside with a doctor’s face in its little disembodied tv-screen-of-a-head. I would also imagine I am in the majority here, and would avoid like the plague any hospital attempting such nonsense. For purposes of transporting frippery, though, now that’s a different matter altogether… One other thought, though I’m not a creative enough mind myself, I can’t help but wholeheartedly agreeing with this thought from **Lionel** : > [@](#): > > My mind boggles at the prank potential of this. ---

I say again, I would \*love \* a robot doctor. Not with a little screen, either, but really an intleligent robot. My doctor’s only redeeming quality is that he is drop-dead gorgeous. And Russian, with a sexy accent. ---

Well, since I just finished watching **I, Robot** I would think you’ll be okay unless the robot’s chest starts glowing red. At that point you need to find Will Smith. ---

Rectoscan 2010. The first and only robot to go boldly where no man has gone before. Sporting a ring of fiberoptic lights, the flexible probe dispenses some lube and begins it’s journey, starting at the Starfish Gate. Once finished, it wipes you off and after a moment, dispenses a DVD of the entire trip, for your home viewing enjoyment. :eek: ---
