I see all these MMP threads, but can’t find anything that helps explain the concept…please enlighten me. ---

MMP stands for Monday Morning Post. It was something that was started by **Rue de Day**. He’d post a funny little story and people would respond to it. The thread then (on purpose) degenerates into hijacks, puns, recipes, TMI, you name it. The rule for the MMP is “There are no rules”. There are a regular group of people who post in there, although anyone is welcome, and welcome them warmly. Jump in, check it out. ---

Check out the [glossary](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=320298) at ATMB. It’s explained there. Better yet, like **Taters** said, jump in and post. It’s a place where even the most MPSIMS of MPSIMS is welcomed and keeps us from posting a gazillion threads a week about whatever pops in our heads. Also, it’s the Cool Kids place. ---

The MMP can be used to intercept alien radio broadcasts. Every time you post in the MMP, Cecil Adams send you a dollar (void where prohibited) My MMP is so big, it has little MMPs in orbit around it. ---
