I’m not much of a beer drinker either, although over the last few years I’ve acquired a taste for some types of beer in some circumstances. I do like a good pint of John Smith or Guinness on occasion, but mostly I drink beer with food, and would hate to spend an evening consuming pint after pint (as many of my cohorts are wont to do). OTOH, if you ever go to Prague, the dark beer there is _very_ nice (and cheaper than coffee. Worth a try, at least once. ---

Mmmm, beeeerrrr! Love it! I love to try new kinds of beer. My newest favorite is Michelob Premium, which reminds me of the “Summer Wheat” beer that I get at Hops Restaurant and Brewery. ---

Widmer Hefeweizen Bridgeport India Pale Ale Deschutes Brewery Mirror Pond Ale Fat Tire Amber Ale Full Sail Pale Ale McMenamin’s Hammerhead Ale Cascade Brewery’s Golden Ale Pyramid Hefeweizen, Snow Cap Ale Rogue Brewery Wicked Ale Admittedly these are mostly ales, but are true masterpieces of the brewer’s art. There’s no substitute for quality, especially if you’re acquiring a new taste. ---

I’ve been to Germany and had German beer. Been to England and had English ale. Been to Canada and had Canadian beer. Live in the US and have…well, you get the picture. And of every type I’ve ever tasted, I have found the following rule always applies: Beer before tastes like beer after. (Think about it.) ---

beer is definitly an aquired taste. I hated it when I got to college… by the time I left I was all about it. it helps that the only thing free at party’s were kegs, because you NEVER can complain about free booze ---

I never understand “acquired tastes”. Why would I want to consume something that tastes bad until I can no longer tell it tastes bad? But I too do not like beer. The only beer-like thing I can happily drink is Guiness. I also do not like wine (with makes living in the Bay Area a pain in the ass). I also do not like coffee (which made living in Seattle a pain in the ass) and I do not like tea (which makes living with an Asian woman a pain in the ass). I also do not like mangoes, which made living in Hawaii a pain in the ass. I’m not anti-alcohol, I just prefer to stick to gin and tonics and White Russians (alternating, preferably). ---

you can aquire a taste when there is nothing else to drink so you drink it anyway (as in anyone that can accaully drink the beast like me), and after there is enough partys with nothing else you start to like it… like i do now. who’s got a beer, oh wait I’m still at work. ---
