In honour of this thread, I’m having chili right now. I brought in some spicy Thai tuna to have with some naan bread, but I also had a can of Stagg Steakhouse chili at my desk. So I added some hot sauce to it, and am having naan bread with that instead. Sure, it’s out of a can, but it’s still OK for lunch. I’m making a batch of my own on Saturday to take to a neighbourhood party. I’ll save some for myself though. ---

If you look at canned chilis in the grocery store in America, many brands have “Chili” and “Chili with beans” as distinct choices. ’ ---

**Clothahump** , did you mean to list armadillos there as a shelled animal? I don’t think possums have shells. Though I confess to not being up on all their culinary applications. And I’m surprised you don’t mention venison as a recommended meat: I’ve had some absolutely amazing venison chilis. ---

However, I do think that you should at the very least, spend a long sentence in confinement, for aggravated bacon dislking. ---

I’m making a pot of chili right now! Like I said, I could eat chili every meal for the rest of my life. ETA: Of course I believe I’ve also said that about Indian food! ---

This is one of the things I love about this place. An OP is started telling us that she doesn’t like chili, and we all end up talking about the varieties of chili and how good they all are! 🙂 ETA: she may as well have started a thread talking about disliking cats made of bacon. ---
