In my universe, time does not exist. Beings with the ability to observe and remember, keep on talking about time as if it is a thing that exists apart from energy and mass doing things in proper proportion. Here and there, energy and mass do things in seemingly peculiar ways. The time keepers then say time has slowed, sped up, maybe even stopped or reversed. No. The need to usually measure events with time as a part of the equations, makes it appear that time not only exists, but may have changed in some way, if you choose to look at it that way. Of course using time in equations is vital to having proper results in many instances. For our purposes. For we have reasons, to ends. We observe and note. Over time. But the universe and it’s interactions do not require time. The basic interactions of energy and mass is it’s functions. It does not measure, remember or predict. In my suppositions, I imagine E=MC^2, has no C^2. Because it is derived from time and distance. Energy and mass having no purpose for time or distance. Just instantaneous force of effects. A planet does not measure it’s mass, distance and velocity to calculate it’s orbit around a stars unmeasured mass. It is this paragraph that really gets muddy. And my math is meager. I visualize. Putting myself in the place of mass and energy, I cannot visualize time. It has no place. Mass and energy affect the interactions between them. Time is irrelevant to them. Non existent. My apologies for this. I’m sure it has been brought up so many times. Moderators, feel free to plop it into a correct thread, or category as you see fit. ---

But time is a property of space (spacetime). It is not a property of mass or energy, per se. Mass/energy and spacetime, though interwoven, are separate things. ---

Time is on your side, you could at least treat it well even if you’re not great friends. You know, say hi as you pass time in the hall; get it something cool if you pull time in the office Secret Santa exchange. ---
