I don't like TV.

i like pbs shows like nova and frontline, and some of the nature shows. i love speedvision for formula one and motorcycle racing all over the world. i like college football on espn and the networks, but generally just listen while working in the shop or on the car. wife and i watch too much comedy central. (oh, that Dave Atell…)

sitcoms and cop dramas suck
home shopping should be shut down

actually, of the 150+ channels i have to pay for, i only watch about 4 or 5…

what a dummy! so, i guess my answer is “yes, i like tv.”, but only some of it.

(am looking forward to the discovery channels show about the WTC. it was made pre-sept. 11th and focuses on the engineering and construction. i don’t know jack about it and would like to see this. airs wed 17th i think)

At the moment, I have a TV with cable, VCR and a DVD player. I think I’ve switched them on once or twice in the past month, at the most. Looking back, I can’t justify the money I spent on the equipment, only to hardly ever use it. Not to mention that fact that in the UK we have to pay for a TV licence, costing something in the region of £110 a year IIRC.

When I move, the TV and VCR will be sold. That means I won’t be paying for the licence, only to never watch the damn thing. Naturally, with no TV, I won’t be signing up for cable again, either. I do watch DVDs sometimes, but the DVD-ROM on my PC will take care of that. I can always get a bigger monitor if needs be.

When I was younger, I loved TV. Nowadays, I’d much rather listen to music, surf the net or spend time with my friends. People think I’m being snooty because of my dislike of TV, but that really has nothing to do with it. There just isn’t much on that I want to watch.

I don’t watch TV. The shows are inane. The commercials are insulting and manipulative. The news is simplistic and bland. And yes, I am a snob about it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Count me in folks.
I disconnected my TV in 1993.
I do not miss it.

TV blows for the most part. Can you say “live vicariously?”
To each thier own though. For me, it seems to cause and increase violent imagery in my imagination. The cheesy moronic nature of tv added to how much time it wastes made me drop it. The internet is next.
