At least the dude has a way with words. I found his approach refreshing, after reading the same old “Bushco” crap for the past several months. Hey Reeder: Did you catch the protest group, “Billionaires For Bush” on TV last night? They were dressed in formal wear, with top hats, canes and stuff. That was funny! See, if some of you guys here had the least tad of a sense of humor it would help your cause some. ---

I read an interview with Garrison Keillor on [salon.com](http://salon.com) a couple weeks ago, discussing his new book, “Homegrown Democrat: A Few Plain Thoughts From the Heart of America,” why he’s speaking out politically now, and why Prairie Home Companion isn’t a political show. Keillor responds to the last issue by saying, “The show ought to be entertaining in every sense of the term, to people of any political stripe, my people and also ignorant fascist bastards.” ---

As I have become more conservative over the last 20 years, he has become more liberal. As much as he would like to think he keeps his show neutral - it’s not. I don’t think it’s required to wear cashmere pants or whatever when you get a cool million in the bank. What’s the problem with pierced noses? WTF farm vandals? So is a pacifist necessarily a coward? I know American soldiers don’t rape and murder routinely, but these torture scandals are the only thing I can think of that made me actually _ashamed_ to be an American. Only briefly, though.
