Clothalump is moving rather slowly. I can just imagine his career in law enforcement–lots of doughnuts! (One of my long-dead grandfathers was a policeman Up North. An uncle & cousin had careers in the FBI–back when that was a respectable agency.)

>
> As a minor additional note, I’m somewhat baffled by people who say voting for Trump was a vote for change. Isn’t that “change” in the sense of “change things back to how I remember the 1950s, or at least how I _picture_ the 1950s.” It’s not “change” in the sense of “we have new knowledge and technologies available to us, and a new understanding of the potential of the individual, so let’s change _and update_ the political process to reflect these new opportunities.”

1950s, hell - 1890s robber barons more like.

The parade is planned for December. The official Klan sanctioned victory parade.

Ku Klux Klan announces Trump victory parade in North Carolina
Posted 9:48 am, November 11, 2016, by Tory Brecht

PELHAM, N.C. – A chapter of the Ku Klux Klan says it will hold a victory parade in North Carolina to celebrate Donald Trump’s win over Hillary Clinton this week.

The Loyal White Knights are planning the parade for December 3, according to a post on the Pelham, N.C., group’s website advertising a “Victory Klavalkade Klan Parade.”

No exact time or place is specified, just the date and the message, “TRUMP=TRUMP’S RACE UNITED MY PEOPLE.”

The Loyal White Knights number between 150 and 200 members, according to the Anti-Defamation League, and were behind a rally in South Carolina last year to protest the removal of the Confederate flag from the state Capitol building.

Earlier this year, Trump received an endorsement from the Imperial Wizard of the Rebel Brigade of the Ku Klux Klan during an interview with WWBT. He’s also been endorsed by David Duke, the former leader of the KKK, who celebrated Trump’s win on Twitter

Out of a country of 330 million, that doesn’t seem too bad. I suggest the day they march, fans of (for example) _Twilight_ do that same, in full cosplay, down the same streets. Surely you can scare up at least 400 or so.

For the record, there is no such thing as “the” Klan. The three major national Klan groups were broken up by the SPLC in the 1970s and 80s or fractured. All that’s left now is a loose confederation of warring tribes, most of which number no more than a few dozen members.

By the way, after thinking this over, I’ve decided maybe a little schadenfreude is good for the soul. In that vein, Trump looks fucking terrified to be President. You may have not figured out yet that he has no fucking clue what he’s doing, but it’s clearly sinking in for him. Let’s see how long it takes for everyone else to figure it out.

For one thing, he can’t just run around yelling “you’re fired”. The House and Senate don’t HAVE to obey him (though it’s always party before country so don’t get too hopeful). He also has a lot of really hateful (but hopefully impossible) promises to deliver on.

Let’s see NOW what happens when his bills come due with Putin. You Do know the Russians are now admitting the “had a little something” to do with all the Wikileaks and “email” shit, and admitted they had contact with his campaign people ALL ALONG.

Isn’t this a political landmine? I mean, he’s gonna get asked about. And he’s gotta distance himself from them, right? Seems like the best thing he can do for himself is to really piss these people off. That or have Ben Carson go down there to represent him for the parade.

Would he suddenly start caring now to be associated with racists? He hasn’t seemed to mind yet. I am wildly curious to find out how closely his Presidency matches up with his campaign image. It’s as if a literal 12 year old is about to take office… if you can remove yourself from the horror, you develop a sort of morbid fascination. Or maybe thirteen year old, cuz mood swings and puberty are a bitch.

As a matter of interest, has Donald Trump previously been elected to any office ever?

I think he has not, but being a foreign person, I could be wrong.
