Unless a complaint is filed in the future against Favre, and the accuser in that case can show that the league knew there was a pattern of harassment. As an employer, they’re putting themselves into an untenable situation if they don’t at least investigate any credible report, whether or not there’s a complaint from Sterger. ---

They are investigating it, even though they’ve gotten no credible report. There isn’t anything there. Sterger isn’t talking and the NFL doesn’t have subpoena power. The only evidence they have is the Deadspin report. ---

Favre admitted that he sent the texts. I don’t know what kind of evidence would qualify as “credible” in your eyes (although I have my suspicions), but that seems pretty damn credible to me. ---
