Didn’t Roy Orbison … never mind.
Hey Roy’s got bison in his name … Roy or Bison - who knew ?

On behalf of all Canadians everywhere, I would like to humbly apologize for Celine Dion. And I might as well throw in Bryan Adams and Loverboy while we’re at it.
Frankly, we’re just sorry about our whole contribution to the world music scene.
Oh, and Avril Lavigne, too.
Bison.

No way - Ryu all the way!
Dante - Might I remind you that Jeff Healy, Colin James, Wide Mouth Mason, The Tragically Hip, Rush, The Guess Who, The Bare Naked Ladies, Holly Cole, Jann Arden, K.D. Lang, The Crash Test Dummies, Corky and the Juice Pigs, Guy Lombardo, Joni Mitchell, The Tea Party, Harp Dog Brown, and Diana Krall are just a few artists that hail from the great white north.
They should more than compensate inflicting Celine Dion on an unsuspecting world and we have no need to apologize.
Oh… there’s also Shania Twain… I hear she’s pretty popular too.
I have absolutely no idea what song you are talking about.
Sometimes ignorance is a beautiful thing.
Worse yet, I saw this stupid commercial during the previews before a movie, just last week. So there wasn’t even a “change the channel/hit the Mute button” option. /twitch
Shut up. Just shut up! You had me at Rush…
You had me at Rush.

I always thought of you as more of a Guy Lombardo fan…
**LolaC - ** these should keep you busy…
I believe Roy Orbison wrote the song, but it’s anyone’s guess who recorded it first. It appears the first time he released a recorded version of the song was also in 1989, although the information I read may be misleading. Cite
All that aside . . . I was horrified when I heard Celine Dion’s version of the song. WTF is with the techno beat and changing the lyrics around? Geeze, it’s supposed to be an upbeat lovesong, not some hiphop dance routine. Every time I accidentally hear part of Celine’s version, I have to go home and play Cyndi Lauper to erase the memory.
You know, this sentence flows so smoothly, it’s like a page out of a Dr. Seuss book.
Heh. I technically own a tv, but mainly just so I have something to hook the playstation to and watch cartoons with. Now I have something to argue with when my mother says there’s nothing good to be gained from just watching cartoons.
Loverboy are scheduled to play a little concert in our wholesome town square this summer. Can you please come and put them back in the home? They obviously should never have been released.
Everybody’s workin’ for the wee-kend!
Sorry 'bout that. We’ll be right over.
I wasted many a quarter on this game. Good times…
Nope.
I checked the liner notes. It was written by Billy Steinberg.
Oh… and Tom Kelly.
Considering Roy died in 1988, he probably recorded it before or very near the same time as Lauper. It appears though that Lauper released it first.
Hmmn.
Now. I did see Roy’s video. The style was similar to the Wicked Game video by Chris Issak. It had Jason Priestly in it, and I think it was for the soundtrack of a movie.

Okay… and from the link above, it has Jennifer Connelly in it.
