Vision, What I think you are missing here is that this is a world filled with all shapes and sizes. Your opinion voiced here is just the opposite, but in the same light, as those that are well over weight. Does it really matter to give people an idea that you find something repulsive? Does it make it any better than had you come in here putting blacks, hispanics, fat, short, tall or any other obvious physical things that people have? Yes it does matter because this attitude of yours is no less repulsive than any that I have listed here. Look, have an opinion, fine, but before you open your mouth you might consider the reaction that will come from it. I know this all to well. At least I am smart enough to not give a group of people some feeling of inferiority, I at least stick with individuals when they tick me off. Oh and drop it? You DID bring it up, I think that warrants a reaction from the teeming millions. Think next time. ---

I forgot to add: All of our body shapes and sizes have a lot to do with genetics, so if you are going to get weird on it I suggest you have a discussion with God or whoever your deity is. Not all woman are thin with large hips and big boobs, ala Barbie. Not all men have abs like steel and arms like Mr. Universe. Even MANY who work out. It’s genetics ya boob, genetics. My brother has skinny bird legs but a strong upper body, thanks to my dad. I am adopted and got a bubble butt with tremendous upper body strength for a woman. My sis-in-law is part Italian with a large trunk but she looks like exactly like Kate Jackson. We are all different, deal with it. ---

I had a nice, pithy response all typed out, and then I realized it was destined for the pit. So here goes. Vision, in order to teach us conventional wisdom, not only would you have to know it, you’d have to know it better than we do. Somehow I doubt that’s true. As for dropping this . . . probably not. Dopers tend not to let this kind of thing go. Do a search for Jebus and you’ll see what happened to someone else who posteed things similar to what you’ve posted. ---

The world should be about our inner self rather than whether we are fat, thin or whatever else defines the ultimate. Our genetics play a lot more into our bodies than who we live our lives. Oh and oddly enough this topic comes up and I am watching 48 Hours where they are talking about people and their body image. It’s amazing what people will do to achieve some perfection. Vision, some advice: You’re digging yourself a progressively deeper hole with every post. First you say you are slightly disgusted by people who have stick arms and are therefore lazy and do not pick up anything. Then you “clarify” this by essentially repeating part of your first post. You continue by insinuating that we misinterpreted your posts, which you say are talking about people who are lazy. Here’s a newsflash for you: most of the people here at the SDMB, given the statements “People who are skinny are lazy” or “People who are lazy are skinny” would not agree with them. As such you’re not going to get people who agree with you but people who will call you on the invalidity of your statements. You then go and say “I am not saying people with skinny bodies are lazy bastards just the ones that truly are, and you know who I’m talking about, don’t deny it.” This . . . did not help your case. And given that the person you’re talking about is your friend, it should be fairly obvious to you that we DON’T know who you’re talking about unless your best friend is a poster here, in which case I wouldn’t be surprised to see this person as your ex-friend. Now you’ve come up with “okay, I’m really talking about my good friend who so happens to be a lazy bastard with a pigeon chest. I guess I was pigeon-holing all skinny people, but he is the real person I have a gripe with. Basically your typical lazy bastard.” Does he have a pigeon chest because he is lazy? How is he “our” typical lazy bastard? Suggestion for the future: it is not a good idea to generalize about one size of people the way you have. For example, not all skinny people are lazy bastards. Not all smart people are arrogant shits. Not all Americans are toothless losers. ---

**Vison** obviously **we** are not getting through to **you**. So I am going to try to explain to you how you are fucking-up. When you come on a message board and insult people based solely on their physical characteristics without seeming to be cognizant of the fact that you may in all probability be addressing your comments to persons who may very possess the very qualities that you are railing about, it can mean only 1 of 2 things. 1. You are merely ignorant and unlearned and can be taught that the #1 rule of interacting with people is “don’t be a jerk” or 1. You are an ignorant, biased individual who enjoys exhibiting trollish behavior because you enjoy the attention it garners for you. Let’s hope for your sake that it’s #1 cause it means that you are merely ignorant and can be taught. If it is #2 then you might as well make preparations to be verbally boiled in oil because most people on this board, myself included do not suffer fools gladly.
