As in, i finally came out of the closet to my parents! It could not have gone any better! I swear, they took it so well they were kind of non challant about it. So, this means i dont have much of a harrowing coming out story to tell. But, basically it went like this: me: mom, dad, i have something to tell you Dad/mom: what? Me: I’m gay mom: well hallelujia! dad: oh, cool! me: whew! So we talked about it a little. Mom was dissapointed i didnt have a BF. They said there has been some speculation. I mean, duh, come on, i havent had a GF ever :D. They were amused when i said i’m really anticipating telling my twin brother. So, the next step is to let my twin, older bro, and older bro’s fiancee know. I dont expect too much of a reaction from most of them. Although it will be interesting to hear what my twin says. Anyway, the whole thing went as well as I expected. My family is pretty tolerant about these things. It just is a hard thing to do. I’m glad the hardest part is over (with my siblings it wont be as hard). Anyway, i dont have much. I guess if i had a lot of drama this would be a more exciting read :). ---

Good for you, Doobieous. Even if you know that your parents will be OK with it, it is still a hard thing to do. I’m glad there are no bad feelings after you told. Makes things so much easier when you tell other people. Even if their reaction is not as good as your parents’, you can still fall back on that first experience where everything went well. And I admit I chuckled quite a bit to hear your mother express her disappointment at your lack of a boyfriend (I can sympathise - I think my mother would go “What?!?
