Good luck with telling the siblings; that was the hardest part of the coming-out process for me. Ah, I remember the days… Congrats, my precious petal **Doob**. May every worry in your life let you off the hook as easily as this one. By comparison, classic quotes from my own coming out: - Mom said, “I thought you were a gift from God - I guess this is God’s joke on me.” - Dad called me a “cock-sucking butt-fucking faggot.” - Evil sister said I was worthless and might as well kill myself because I was just going to die from AIDS anyway. - Good sister said, “Well _duh_.” (She’s the good sister for obvious reasons ;).) Now, keep in mind that was, oh, 14 years ago (just passed my anniversary, as a matter of fact, which I recommend to you to celebrate every year, **Doob** ). Of late my mother has mused on becoming a lesbian if my father should pass away, and she was very upset I dumped Dr. Boyfriend to move to the west coast because, well, he’s a _doctor_. While that is, undoubtedly wonderful news, I agree with you, it’s a little dull. I mean, really, this is not the kind of story to send you embarking on a wonderous new adventure. Yes, it’s lovely and all, but let’s be realistic, he’s going to have to repeat this story and, no doubt in the gay community. I say it’s time for a little tweaking. Sure, we know the truth, Mom and Dad know the truth but that’s no reason we couldn’t punch this storyline up a little. Seriously, I know you’re all thinking it too, Where’s the drama? The tears? The histronics? No scratching of eyes, waving of arms. And costumes, where are the costumes? Not a single person locked a bathroom? I’m sorry this just won’t do, we cannot send you out into the hard cruel gay world without a better story than this.
