# I find myself wishing for a God to Smite Them.

Actually, despite its name, the WBC isn’t Baptist at all, but more Calvinist, especially in regards to [predestination](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predestination_%28Calvinism%29). So Ms Phelps-Roper is already headed for hell (or not) according to a plan God spun out æons ago and there’s fuck-all she can do about it. Same thing with me, and you, and you, and _you_ there, hiding in the corner. Yeah, you.

Therefore their motive for picketing isn’t to turn someone aside from their wicked ways and be saved—it’s a done deal already. It’s… Actually, I’m not sure what their motive is. To make people feel bad, I suppose.
