That’s if you are willing to spend the hour its going to take (at least) to walk to 12 different stores explaining the situation to each of them. Good grief.
Buy the dog a toy and some treats then treat yourself to a nice dinner!

It seems I need to explain to you again that if there had been any way to find the rightful owner og the money, I would have. And I’ll restate a few more things for you since you seem to have missed some points I made in response to your first comment on this thread.
There are at least 12 stores/restaurants in the immediate area where I was parked. These businesses encircle the parking lot. I was parked pretty far out because I had my doggie friend with me and she needed shade. I only mentioned 2 of the stores because they were the only 2 I went in. The money was in the flower bed near where I was parked. I was actually closer to CVS and the seafood place than I was to the grocery store, if you wanna get technical about it. NO ONE was around. There was only one other car parked near me because it was a pretty good walk.
I used the “looked around furtively” comment to bring a little humor into my story. I stated this also.
I don’t believe anybody would take the time to walk into that many places and inquire if anyone reported losing some money. More time than I had, for sure, since I had my dog in the car with me.
One more thing - I guess the title of my thread is misleading in a way, but I feel I gave enough details in the actual and following post to clear that up.
SOOOOOO I gave the money to my dog! She loves her treats I bought her and her new big bag of Potato and Duck formula Natural Balance dog food.
You stole somebody’s trunk? LOL
My 4 year old daughter found $30 in a Kroger rest room last week! It was pretty funny too. We walked into the bathroom, and she ran into a stall as fast as she could. Before I even got to the stall door, she popped back out and said “Mommy, look what I found!”, showed me money, then said “I know, it can be your Mother’s Day present!” She says it was sitting on the toilet paper holder.
I went to the customer service desk, and they said no one had reported it missing, so I could keep it. She also looked at me crazy, like she couldn’t believe I would even try to turn it in. I would say I did something cool with it, but my teenager needed money for this, and my pre-schooler needed money for that, and the last $5 went to tip my waitress. Oh well!
I would consider it legitimately ‘found’ money. So I would use half to buy myself something and donate the other half to charity. (I feel bad for my little charities that are struggling. Maybe I’d give all of it to them…)
You already know what you need to do. What you ultimately do is up to you. I get some great God shots when I do the right thing.
It could be a little old Lady’s grocery money for the month…
I’m not quibbling with you. I already stated that if you say it wasn’t practical to ask around, then fine.
DrDeth has a problem with what I said I would do, and it was to him I was replying.
I’ve already “DONE” something with the money. Check out the rest of the thread.
Did you read ANY of the posts other than the OP? Just asking… Both of your comments indicate that you did not.
Sorry Perciful, I didn’t mean to sound snappy. I’ve just repeated in so many ways that there was no way to return the money to the rightful owner. Wish there was but it’s just not possible.
My, what big eyes you have!
Sorry, I did read the OP and a few people helping you spend it. I did not know you went to the stores and asked if anyone dropped it. I say it’s yours then!
Fancy, fruity, martinis!
