I took this picture from the 86th-floor observation deck of the Empire State Building on January 1, 2000. Found it today while going through some old photos; I’d forgotten all about it. Got all misty looking at it, though. (Sorry for the poor job of scanning; I don’t really know my way around a scanner.) That’s the most beautiful picture of Manhatten I’ve ever seen. It looks more like Oz than Gotham. ---

Nice Pic. I have some I took from the WTC observation deck. I get a little misty looking at them. MiB was just on TV. Lots of shots of the towers in that movie that thankfully were not digitized out. ---

Thanks for the compliments, all. I was pretty amazed to find it. I’m getting it blown up and I plan to frame it. Unfortunately, the negative got folded sharply right across that picture, but apparently they can do pretty good enlargments from a print. I remember when I got those photos developed and I thought, “Wow, what a great-looking picture!” Seems like every now and then I’ll get a photo that seems to capture more than what’s in the frame. That one’s pretty much the winner, though. ---

I wish I had a scanner, I have a pic from a boat tour we took around the island when I was 17…I guess that would make it about 1985. My dad got a great picture of the towers but some gray haired lady was in the front. That’s okay I have my own memento of the towers from my youth. ---

This breaks my heart. I grew up in NY and saw the towers being built. I remember the scaffolding surrounding them as they were going up. I have photographs put away of my brother and me walking across the Brooklyn Bridge as it was being renovated, and then pics later that same day of the two of us up on the observation deck of the WTC. Must have been in 1984. I know exactly where I have these photos stashed away, but I don’t know when I will be able to bring myself to look at them. ---
