**Kythereia:** Well pull up a bar stoll, get comfy, have a few beers, and some of us might actually look pretty good, too! 😉

I am happy to announce (I don’t know how I managed to forget this yesterday)that I am a Beer Baby! Yes, my mother, a lifetime bowler on the Anheuser-Busch Bowling League, came home one Thursady night after a particularly good evening of bowling _and beer_, and was “in the mood.”

Nine months later, I entered the world.

On the other hand, I heard on the radio this morning that their [url=“[http://www.anheuserworldselect.com/index.html](http://www.anheuserworldselect.com/index.html)”] Anheuser World Select has performed well in the test market and is going national. This is by far their hoppiest and best beer. No, really, it’s actually a good, all barley malt no rice Pils. I’m actually excited that the world’s largest brewer is brewing good mass market beer again.

I’ve always liked Michelob, and their Amber Bock isn’t bad at all (for an American domestic; the real German stuff still blows it away).

My wife **loves** World Beer. I view it as a step in the right direction, since her previous favorite “beer” was Bud Light.

That is good news. Now we won’t have to drive to the next town to buy her fix.

As long as I’m bearing a case of Yuengling’s finest, my brother-in-law has no complaints when I come to visit to have “girl time” with my sister (and during my college years it even got me free all-weekend use of their washing machine!).

> I, too, love beer. Whether I’m downing something pricey from some European hamlet with a name that I couldn’t ever hope to pronounce, or if I’m sitting in a back alley downing a forty of Mickey’s, it’s all tasty. Heineken (fuck that shit! Pabst Blue Ribbon!), Modelo, Rolling Rock, Newcastle, Arrogant Bastard, Sierra Nevada…

So a particular friend of mine always tells me Rolling Rock is horse piss. But I really like it. It is the beer for me, and I’m so a wine person. Tell me it’s not horse piss!!

Do you drink it? Do you like it? Then screw your friend. He (and others) may make fun of you, but you like it, and that’s all that counts. Just be willing to try other beers, as well.

Yes, I am a beer geek, but Rolling Rock is my “go-to” beer on a hot summer day. 😃

Staropramen slightly over Pilsner Urquell, huh? I agree, but most would look at us askance for saying so. Spend much time in the Czech Republic (and if so…what, no Budvar :D)?

Bullshit. I submit for your consideration, the ‘hangover’. 😃

I must admit, that even while I hate the hangovers, I realize that when I have them that I know that I had a really, really good time the night before, and that usually involves . . . beer.

Thank God for beer. Hell, even the Founding Fathers liked beer. Thank God for them, too.

HA!!! I can do even better than “in Colorado”…it’s brewed right up the _street_ from my house. I can go to their hospitality room, and drink some for free, even 😃

It will truly be a glorious day when they replace the water in the local river with it and I can just walk down there with a bucket.

Beer, glorious beer,
Pretty much in order

Schneider Weisse(sp?) original, with the white label
Grolsch (but it has to be in the “real” bottle, no 12 oz’ers for me)
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Abbots (proper “English pub draft”)
Shiner Bock
Michelob
Heineken(sp?) Dark (keep the regular stuff AWAY from me, yuk!!!)

If all there is is American Macro-brew I will stick with actual Water thankyouverymuch!

Some of my favorites not mentioned yet:

Uff-da Bock, [New Glarus Brewing Company](http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/), New Glarus, Wisconsin; actually, every beer I’ve tried by them is good

Trois Pistoles, [Unibroue Brewing Company](http://www.unibroue.com/english.cfm), Quebec (haven’t had a bad beer by them either for that matter)

Dirty Bastard Ale, Founders Brewery, Michigan

Immort Ale, [Dogfish Head Brewery](http://www.dogfish.com/), Deleware

I tend to go toward darker, maltier beers (and ones with higher alcohol contents).

_Brilliant!!!_
As a proud Long Island Beer Drinker, I submit to you the [Blue Point Brewing Company](http://www.bluepointbrewing.com/) where I go for fresh growlers of the glorious brew.

I’m also planning my yearly trip up to the Major League Baseball hall of fame, which includes a visit to the [Cooperstown Brewery](http://www.cooperstownbrewing.com/) and a trip to one of my favorite places on Earth, the [Brewery Ommegang.](http://www.breweryommegang.com/)

Cheers!

Sweet. Rolling Rock is my fav! I can also do Heineken, Dos Equis and Shiner Blonde in a pinch. I’ve tasted a lot of other beers. I just have trouble with darker ones being to bitter for me. So, screw my friend and the Bud-whatever she was drinking!
