Several people have been scolded or yelled at regarding flirt threads, myself included. From what I can see we’ve all toned it down drastically or completely so SHUT THE FUCK UP and stop bringing it up in every freakin’ thread like it’s something new. _We get it_. You don’t like flirting. \*\*Kythereia \*\* got yelled at, I got yelled at, **Cynical Gabe** got yelled at, along with a multitude of others. Those are the ones I can think of off-hand. \*\*Kythereia \*\* has promised to stop, and I stopped without having to promise. Now \*\*roger thornhill \*\* has started his pointless Pit thread, the mods are all sulky, and everyone keeps BITCHING like little children. You read more complaints about flirting then flirting these days. The flirting thread was closed. I don’t know who all participated in there - I know I didn’t - but they make a thread for it to keep it separate and then they close it. Fair enough, I guess, but sometimes it spills over. We’re sorry, damnit. WE’RE STOPPING. Could you please stop, too? Bastards. Notice there is no flirting in this post and no fucking smileys. Happy? ---

I actually don’t think we need to limit the amount of flirting, we just need a rule about the nature of the flirting itself. Here’s what I suggest: _All flirting on the SDMB shall, from this day forth, be done solely with the phrase “wanna fuck?” No smilies are allowed at any point during the flirtation. The only two acceptable replies to flirtation are “yes” or “no”, although if the flirtee is particularly distasteful one may substitute “yuck” for “no”. Contact details may be exchanged in the case of a “yes”._ ---
