Well, I took the SATs on April 1st, all 3:45 (not counting breaks) of it; today I looked up my score online: Critical Reading: 770 Mathematics: 790 Writing: 750 Woot! Or, more properly, //007!!!1! Take that, colleges! ---

It’s not a cumulative test, other than the 3 parts making a whole. IOW, you can’t take the 3-part test 3 times and add the scores together for a total. Cheater. 😃 Kidding. Great score!!! ---

Actually, that’s exactly what does happen. If you take it multiple times and send the scores to the same college, they’ll only count the highest score for each section. ---

Congrats! This might be a good thread to ask my SAT question in, since you seem to be the SAT Masiah!! Is the SAT only offered in English? What about the ACT? How do people who speak English as a Second Language get a fair shot at a college entrance exam? Thanks for listenting. ---

This is the first I’ve heard of the new SAT scoring system. I was confused at first because I remember my score of 1450 being pretty good, yet it isn’t anywhere near 2310. Then I googled a bit and saw the new system. Congratulations!!! ---

(Don’t they set them so that the average on each section is 500?) Damn you, College Board! Actually, though, even taking into account the new scoring system, **dwalin** did way better than me. I LOVE taking that kind of test - I wish there were a job where they’d pay you to do it. Congratulations! I only wish I knew more about these tests. They didn’t do them in Canada when I was in school. Are they nationwide? Mandatory? ---
