Late Blurf.
Didn’t irk today- was s’posed to be, but I got put on a different section yesterday, and did my back in a bit. It’s a lot better today, and they did move me back as soon as a supervisor who actually was prepared to _listen_ for a second came over, but with a 6-ish hour drive tomorrow, I really didn’t want to mess about and risk it. It’s not a whole lot of money missing a day, and it can be a lot if bending.
The annoying thing is, I couldn’t get through on the phone to say I wouldn’t be in, and I don’t know how much of an issue that’ll be. I did try.
Anyway, I’ve been trying to finish the present shopping instead- I think a few more boxes of chocs, and that’ll be it. Gonna go brave the supermarket shortly… Maybe it’d be better at 3 am or something, when the seething hordes have temporarily given up, but I need to be up early tomorrow.
Have a splendid general festive season all, if I don’t make it on in the morning!

OYKW texted me to say he arrived safely and the weather was not too ick. Yay for that. In other news, I have made the executive decision to have me some chikin wings for dindin. Ok, not just wings, I shall contemplate a side. Hmmm… think I’ll get some from Popeye’s with a side of red beans and rice plus a bizkit. A plan has been made! Go Me! 😃

Irked until 12 then I went to the Charity Thing this afternoon to help out. Helping the Less Than Fortunate get toys so their children could have a Christmas gave me a warm glowing warming glow, but it made me sad that there were so many people there.
Now I’ve gotta pack and get things ready to be thrown in the car after irk tomorrow so I can go be a chauffeur for Christmas. The Hell Two Weeks have commenced.
I don’t mean to be a scrooge, I really don’t. I’m just going to be mad busy until after New Year’s. Come on January!

My supper is leftover bean soup. \*\*FCD \*\*didn’t want quiche, so that didn’t happen. It will tomorrow, tho.
\*\*Spidey \*\*- I rarely use the dryer these days, but I don’t generally go away when using it because the stuff left in it gets all wrinkly if I’m not here to take it out right away.

The protest Die-In that was scheduled for 3 PM today has been postponed. Do I feel like going to the newspaper site to see if they know why?
Oh, damn. A police investigator was injured critically by a hit-and-run this morning. The protest organizers thought it would be inappropriate to continue as planned.

Although I have been known, even sober, to quote Homer Simpson about that “strange magical creature” that gives us ham, sausage and pork chops. With a brain like mine the Old Wench claims acid would be redundant.
Sort of like that time when we were much younger and cuter -------- between me and the cousins we had 5 deer hanging by their feet in the yard aging for a bit before we processed them. I used one of my oldest Santa suits, stuffed it and hung it next to the deer - also by its feet. I added a sign saying “Sorry - Christmas may be a little late this year”. None of the neighbors complained -------- or were even surprised for that matter.

Lead clerk. Never again may you or anyone else including myself take leave at Christmas.
Tourists–go away.
Hate the new time. Come on summer.
On a good note I got my evaluations for the last two years :eek: and they were all outstanding and came with a
3% raise :rolleyes: now if we could get a COLA for the first time in four years…Grrrrrr.

Other than the wig (I tend to go more “Cher - the Menopause Years”) it could. I prefer sabots around the yard but I think I still have an old pair of FMPs somewhere.
