It’s raining, but we’re promised 67° today! I’ll be cracking a few windows open to let in a little fresh air as the temps rise.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. 'Tis 70 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 71 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse. Right now it is rain/tstorm/apocalypse out. We also have a flash flood watch and a tornado watch all day. Loverly Christmas Eve heah in south Jawja!

I remember one year, my orchestra played a Christmas concert with a children’s choir, and, oddly, they changed the line in “Deck the Halls” from “don we now our gay apparel” to “don we now our _strange_ apparel.”:dubious: Weird.
It’s icy and rainy and I have to go to the bank. Pooey.

My trek to McKay’s was a success. The rain has started again and it’s really dreary in here. I think I’ll mosey into the kitchen and do my veggie prep. Plus there are a few science experiments in the fridge that need to be banished.

Argh, I have to go to the bank today, but the streets are so icy that I gave up trying to go anywhere. I think I can do what I need by simply calling the bank (I just need to get some details about the bank for a form I have to fill out.) I hate talking on the phone, but I don’t hate it as much as walking on icy streets.

Trying to get my brain in gear. Having to be at irk earlier than usual doesn’t help. Let’s see how much of a madhouse it is today (thrift store, Christmas Eve). Glad I’m only in for four hours, one of which is before we actually open to customers. Also need a minor grocery stop.
Switching departments as of Saturday. Not-so-good: start time will be 0700. Good: four irk days/week, two weekdays off (and of course Sunday off, since the store isn’t open on Sunday), which will be easier to deal with for a student.

I heard about a Hallmark Christmas ornament where they changed the lyric to “\*fun \*apparel.” :dubious:

Crisis was averted last night. I found some beef neck bones with attached meat at the local Giant grocery. The other choice was marrow bones without meat. VWife can now make her soup.

Actually a lot of us reenactors have had sabots made for us. In the rain and the mud they are really great and while they do take some getting used to walking in they do have the advantage of steel wool cleaning. The secret is making a liner for the inside top from sheepskin - keeps the feet happy all day.

Same around here. We have plans to go visit the newest grandcousin tomorrow. Its a combination Christmas and birthday gathering and I got her dad some Dead On brand tools for a present. You have to love a company who makes something called “the Annihilator”.

I was just looking as some of the photos from my cruise - much of my time in the British Isles was spent under gray skies. I think I kinda forgot about that. I’d love to return and have more time to explore. Some day perhaps!
