I’m just going to c&p this from my blog: We were riding our bikes tonight, it started raining. we rode like mad back to where we parked the van. The last hill was a killer, I stopped to walk (and breathe). My legs were like rubber, we rode about 10 miles and I’m not used to it. My BF started to walk back to me, and for some reason I looked back down the path - and saw a tiny thing moving. A kitten. Skinny, hungry, afraid at first, but we finally got him. I am estimating he’s from 6-8weeks, he was trying to suckle on my hands and ears. I am attaching a picture, how old do you kitten people think he is? I’m calling the vet 1st thing in the AM, right now he’s separated from the rest of the herd. I haven’t had a kitten for more than 10 years- ayeee… We were thinking about adding a cat (have 2 already) but I was thinking an adult cat. But this little guy just couldn’t be left out alone, no collar, and very skinny. We stopped on the way home and got wet & dry kitten food, and he wolfed it down. (Missed where you used a boy-gender pronoun…) Oh, and just remember to get the little bastidge fixed once he’s old enough. Kittyflufflets are wonderful, aren’t they? The stray cat my parents adopted was pregnant, so they now have four kittens on their hands that they’re trying to give to good homes. Those four little fuzzy nooflets are just the cutest little scraps of fluff on this planet. (Two of them look like yours, two of them are grey with little mittens.) Kittens just short out all of my circuits. ---

What about Curly? There’s something about this cat’s eyes that suggests the look Curly (of Three Stooges fame) used to get right after being comically hit on the head with a pickaxe. ---

Oooooooohhhhhhh! Goodness! That’s a pretty fine kitty you got there! Looks like it has made itself riiiiiight at home. Your Kitty looks just like a kitty my dad and I found during the Really Hot Summer When Temperatures Repeatedly Went Over 100 Degrees (In Central Illinois). We were on a run and sitting in the ditch, a long way from any farm, was this grey tabby kitten. He strolled right up to us. We admired him for a bit and then my dad picked him up and we took him with because it was way too hot for him to be out there without a source of water. We finished our run too - so by the time we got him home, he was one really damp kitty. When we set him down in the dining room, he immediately proceeded to give himself a bath. I dubbed him “Purrrrrcy” after Sir Percy Blakeney of _Scarlet Pimpernel_ fame. Eventually, he ended up with my sister-in-law’s mother in Iowa, and grew to be a really beautiful cat (but is there any other kind?). Kitty names have a way of suggesting themselves - you just have to be patient. In the meantime, I’m sure it wouldn’t object to being addressed, as T.S. Eliot advised, as simply “O’ Cat” (remove hat and bow low as you say this). ---

[hijack] **matt\_mcl** : I thought about getting one of those kittens from you in a coupla weeks when we returned to QC, but got too impatient and went to the SPCA and adopted one! Good luck finding good homes for them![/hijack] He looks like one of my cats at my parents place. Her name is Levis (yeah, its a guys name, but JEANS are for girls and boys! Yes, she was named for the company - to pair nicely with Nike the dog). HOw about Merlot? I wanted to name my kitten that, but decided it was a boycat’s name. ---

I’m not positive it’s a _he_ yet, it’s hard for me to tell. It looks like s/he has testicles, but I have mis - sexed kittens before. S/he’ll go to the vet as soon as possible, then I’ll know for sure. I’m going crazy, trying to get the house kitten proofed. My older cats are so good, but a kitten is going to be mischeivous and get into stuff. s/he is a really affectionate little kitten, sleeping soundly now. I _so_ hope s/he’s healthy, I’m attached already. ---

Probably the cheeky adventurous kitten that strayed too far from his mum. Nice little kit, looks just like one of mine.
