# I got a quarter in my change - in Australia!

_Vending machines_, on the other hand, care deeply that you use the right coins. They’re very nationalistic that way.

And on two occasions, I’ve had cashiers notice a Canadian coin among my cash (when I hadn’t), and refuse to accept it as part of the payment. This might vary a lot from store to store.
