What works in a small town composed of Mom’n’Pop retailers & local smalltown banks fails spectacularly when scaled up to metropolises and multinationals.

I got a harsh glare from some vendor in LHR when I tried to spend Filthy Euro coiins.

Yet I got a cheerful, “This are UK coins” when I tried to spend Filthy UK Coins from a Dublin Bus driver.

Well before Brexit.

Well of course. If they took your penny, they would be short about 0.18 ¢. Retail has small margins!
