I got a wart frozen yesterday. Now what happens?

Well, what happens is, if you need a wart anytime in the next couple of years, pop that baby in the microwave on 60% power for 3-4 minutes.

Works fine in fully cooked dishes, but only fresh warts are recommended for salads and cold desserts.

Okay, I tried the Duct tape thing a little while ago, PROBLEM!
It keeps getting less sticky and falling off!!
How am I supposed to make it stick after washing?

Right now, I put some clear nail polish on it, I heard that this suffocates them.

Well the duct tape I used didn’t let water underneath - so I never had that problem. If your duct tape just fell off during the day — sounds like poor quality duct tape. Ask the hardware guy for their best quality duct tape – and if you’re brave enough - tell him that the brand you’re using keeps falling off your wart.

I don’t know how clear nail polish could work - it’s not like they’re absorbing anything through the skin surface anyway. They presumably get their oxygen supply like they get the rest of their nutrients, from your blood. (If you see little black dots inside the wart, that’s blood vessels that have grown to feed it.) Duct tape works because it irritates the skin, pulling more immune system cells to the area. This makes it more likely that some of them will notice that there’s a virus infecting the region, which will put the whole system into attack mode. I suppose it’s possible that nailpolish and/or nailpolish remover would irritate the skin enough to do the same thing - anybody know for sure?

Have you guys ever had problems with having the warts spread from your hands to other parts of your body, or possibly even to other people? I worry myself sick about spreading the warts on my left hand to the other hand, it’s almost an obsession to keep the hands from ever touching.

“Handwashing is the key to preventing infection.”

Wash them ALOT.

That said, you won’t spread your warts around to everybody, some people are immune to them. I’m really hoping I’m one of those people.

Not to be rude, but not sure what doctor told you that!! I have been to my derm. four times now and he has frozen the same wart. He told me this time that if it did not work that I should go and get some duct tape and put on it. The acid from the duct tape will help remove the wart…

FYI: this thread is almost ten years old.

I know it’s a zombie, but I find this quote special. It’s like talking to my dad.

If it hasn’t fallen off by now, it’ll eat your brain. Beware!!!

Considering that this thread was started in 2004, and no significant information has been added,
I’m closing this.
