Not all of the things in that list are true. Attorneys used to get an instant excuse, but no more; most states now say they have to serve, and I know attorneys (I am one) that have served.
Coincidentally, I got noticed for jury duty next month too.
I just served in Federal court here in Nevada. Damn if I wasnt the first name called in the random selection and then again in the jury selection. It was long during the voir dire portion of the session because some jurors really wanted to milk their possible dramas out like a soap opera- I wish I had a hammond to play the “bom bom BOM!” whenever they dropped a big one like,
" Um, ok back in '86 I was pulled over for speeding and the cops found drug paraphernelia in my trans am…I got strip searched and everything…What? The case is about copyright infringement? Whats that?" :smack:
