Excellent news, **Winston**. I found myself in a similar situation almost two years ago. I hated the job – it wasn’t always that way but corporate BS rolls downhill, and it was coming in fast and rank. They eventually let me go – not fired, just laid off without reason. (We do not have at-will employment here in Ontario for employees who have worked beyond their probationary period, but laying off without reason is permissible under the guise of corporate restructuring.) Although I was worried about finding further employment within the 4 week severance I got, especially at what I was being paid (which was pretty good for the field), I was more relieved that I was finally out of that hell hole. In the end though I found a new job just a week after my severance ran out, and it paid even better, so it truly was a blessing in disguise. Good luck on the new digs.
