You know, I’ve just never ‘got’ Get Fuzzy. It always seemed mean-spirited and humorless to me. At least ‘Zippy the Pinhead’ when it’s not funny is surreal. ---

I like Get Fuzzy as well, but I think it takes a back seat to Monty as funniest cartoon currently published. ---

So…does anyone here even _remember_ Bucky Beaver, the Ipana Toothpaste mascot? Perhaps that’s the source of Bucky’s angst. ---

My cat is only half siamese, and I swear to god he _is_ Bucky. If he wakes me up in the middle of the night one more time, i’ll make him look like Bucky, what with the missing tooth. ---

One of our cats is fat like Bucky and has Siamese markings. I don’t think he’s really Siamese; the breed standard is quite a bit smaller. But he’s nothing like Bucky in personality, being very good natured and letting the alpha cat make sure we keep the bowls filled. ---

It’s funny because Bucky is so blissfully unaware of what a jerk he is. I loved the story arc where Rob takes them out to eat and then to get their teeth cleaned. “I just heard the waiter tell those people they couldn’t have lobster because some jerk just ordered the last one. I wonder why he didn’t tell me when I ordered mine?” “_Razor_ Bucky? Oh dear, we’ve lost a lot of good vet techs to your cat.” ---

That strip is funny for me on so many levels! I live in Corvallis, Oregon, home of OSU and the OSU Beavers. Knowing the ‘Beaver Fight Song’ makes that strip HYSTERICAL. The cat’s diatribe against beavers reminds me too much of a guy I dated who was a massive misogynist. He talked about vaginas more than any straight frat boy that I’d known in college. Right before I drop kicked his ass out of my life, he gave a slew of insane invective not too different than the cat’s. ---

Frazz has more of a Calvin and Hobbes kind of innocent feel. Get Fuzzy occasionally makes me snort Cheerios out my nose. ---
