**I Believe In Miracles!!!** Well, I at least believe in technology. I decided to try a hard reboot again, _et voilá!_ All my playlists reappeared as if nothing happened. I can now go to sleep secure in the knowledge that I shall have tunes tomorrow at work. :):)🙂 I’m sure I missed it, but has **QD** said “yes” yet? ---

**QD** , there are also two other critically important words for a future husband to learn and practice because he’ll be saying them multiple times every day for the foreseeable future: “Yes, dear.” 😃 **Magic** , I believe **Swampy** shared his taco soup recipe towards the end of last week’s MMP. Which, since it got up to about eleventy hundred pages, I don’t blame you for not reading in its enthralling entirety. Maybe someone with more patience than I can go look for it – or, of course, he could always post it again. Since MMPs do tend to sink into the morass almost as fast as they’re written. **LiLi** , my stomach hurts at just the _thought_ of doing that Cairo backwards thing. They don’t just walk backwards like normal people in Egypt? 😃 Congrats to your brother, **Rebo**! We were behind a young woman in line at Michaels today whose hubby was heading off to Afghanistan soon, too. Maybe he’ll be over there with your brother. Tell him to stay safe, okay? **LiLi** , you choose patrons? In Spain, patrons choose you. Serious. Lessee, mine: Our Lady (Mother) of Light, cos that’s my name. St Fermin, cos he’s the patron saint of the Navarrese people. St Michael, cos he used to be the patron saint of Navarra and we don’t care what Rome says\*, plus he’s the patron saint of fighters and I can’t shoot but I can scrape. Our Lady of Snows, aka The White Virgin, because she’s patron of the part of Navarra my family comes from. St Francis Xavier, cos he’s the patron of Navarra and of my high school. St Cernin or Saturnine, cos he’s the patron of Pamplona, where I was born. St Anne (the Grandmother), cos she’s the patron of Tudela, where I grew up. St Jeanne de Lestonnac, cos she’s the founder of my primary school. Our Lady of the School, cos she’s the patron of anybody who’s studied at the Jesuits. St Alberto Magno, cos I’m Chem Eng. Oops, almost forgot St James, patron of Spain. You guys need to get better organized 😃 and like **Swampy** said, St Vitus and St David (King) are defintely among your patrons, cos of the dancing. - Navarra got excomunicated a couple times for arguing with the bishop. Both times Rome ended up saying we were right. We don’t go for pushy, but our Inmovable Objects are very, very good: trying to push us usually results in nothing but a tired pusher. Sometimes, sadly, there is bloodshed involved, if the pusher pushes too far. ---

Did the fall asleep early, wake up in the middle of the night thing again. Of course I thought it was 2 and not 12, so I guess it’s not as bad as it could be. But **LiLi** , we thought orange was your color!!! 😃 Oh, and I believe that reading about Cairo walks has fulfilled my minimum exercise requirement for the week. Ouch. Dangit, I knew I was forgetting at least one! St Solomon (King) cos I was born on the day of his feast. Apparently that’s no excuse to be a wiseass, though, the wiseass part is patron-unrelated. ---

It’s ok, just didn’t add that much to it to make any difference, IMO. Plus, that’s not sump’n I keep on hand. I also prefer to slow cook it cause that seems to make it thicker and I like it thick. If jalapenos squick you out, try some sliced black olives instead, or, if you like both, use both. That’s the fun of toppings, they can be played with. I like green onions also (i.e. scallions). **Tigs** flattered though I am, I would hope that **FCM, palebunny** and you would find topics other than me fryin’ bacon nekkid to talk about. 😛 So, y’all meetin’ up for bbq around oneish. That’s my vote. North Jawja is under a winter storm watch today and tomorrow. That means like sleet and/or freezing rain. I’m still not real sure what the diff is between the two but they get talked about like they’re different. Down heah, it’ll just be rain. Cold rain, yeah, but just rain. Yet anudder reason I likes it down in south Jawja. ---

[/QUOTE] I’m thinking that if we look hard enough, though, we could find a patron saint of wiseasses (which would apply to pretty much all of us). [This page](http://www.americancatholic.org/Features/Saints/patrons.asp) says St. Vitus is also the patron saint of comedians… I was disappointed not to find a listing for wiseass. Did they ever name people in Spain after the saint whose feast day they were born on? They used to do that a lot in Mexico. [/QUOTE] Yes, usually as an nth name that would never get used, although I know two people who got the saint first. One found out that his name was legally Pio on the day he arrived to do his military service: they made them line up and the sergeant started calling names. When the sergeant got around to (lastname changed) “Martínez, Pío” this guy just wondered where had “Martínez, Carmelo” gone and fallen off the list… finally he though to say “maybe it’s me, my sergeant?” and yes it was. Almost got him a month in the pen, but the sergeant finally believed his version and relented. My dad was Jaime (the name chosen) María (Abuelita had made a promise that she’d name all her children María if she got to marry the tall blond) Pedro Pablo (he was born on the feast of Sts Peter and Paul). Legally, just Jaime. ---

I’m glad the ipod is working. Ridiculous technology. Why don’t we all head for the woods, and wrap ourselves in tinfoil? I think St. Anne is the patron saint of Canada, and I was born on St. Bruno’s day. He founded the… drat. Carthusians, that’s it! The very quiet hermity order! Well, that’s not for me. I think sleet is partially frozen coming down, and freezing rain just freezes on contact into solid layers of ice. You’re welcome! Time for tea. ---

We don’t have saints. We just name our kids something biblical and hope it’s close to some deceased relative’s name. Or we name our kids for some deceased relative and hope it’s close to something biblical. I can never remember which. 🙂 ---

Hm, well due to the random talk of saints, I just looked to see which saint it was exactly if you named your kid after a [St. Bernard](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Bernard_%28dog%29). So it appears that he’s actually the [patron saint of the Alps](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_of_Menthon). Are there any matron saints?
