So what area of law are you leaning towards? Or have you now decided you never want to deal with the law ever again and just want to get a nice low-stress job in a tasty-freeze?

I’ve come to understand that you wind up practicing whatever area(s) of law the first person to hire you does. I work full time at a firm that does primarily workers’ compensation defense now and I expect to remain here (at least for a while) once I’m admitted to the bar. Plus I have seven years of experience in the field, whereas I’d be starting at bottom if I branched out.
The tasty-freeze idea is super tempting though.

On time in the sense that I’m finishing a four-year program in four years. Bit late in the sense that I’m now 31 and would have graduated at 23 if I went when I first planned to. :smack:

That sounds great for all the rest of us. A lawyer who will know that he/she isn’t all that bright.
I kid… I kid.
No seriously, sounds scary as all crap, but at least you have real world experience. I was lucky that way as well. I had two serious offers, one of which was from my alma mater. I already knew the folks I was going to work with, because… well that was how I put myself through school, writing software.
