Even if he is fudging a bit, that’s ok. I don’t mind a good yarn that much. But when the responses from other posters start getting bizarre, it gets harder to hide my suspicions. ---

All this fantasy tale needed was for the police to NOT be impressed and instead try to give our hero grief for “taking out the trash” (said in an old school Clint Eastwood snarl, natch). The officer would demand to know who was overly aggressive diner who started a brawl at a fast food restaurant over next to nothing? His fellow Steak & Shakeans, grateful for his brave service against no-no words, would stand in turn on a tabletop and shout out “I am Brawling Oldfarticus!” “NO! I am Brawling Oldfarticus!” and on and on. In the end the officer would leave, admitting defeat, as he was bested by the best of them: Ducati the vigilante warrior. I await the next installment of his life as a fearless badass. How many does this make for him now? The whole thing reads like a bad episode of Walker, Texas Ranger complete with cringe-worthy dialogue. I will also point out that the punk started the physical confrontation. Reading the OP, I don’t know what ducati was going to do but the punk threw the first shove. Here’s what I don’t get about your reaction to this. According to you, ducati was out of line for using words like “Shut your fucking talkhole.” but the guy throws a drink on him and ducati is supposed to ignore it. How about the punks ignoring ducati rather than throwing a drink on him? And just for clarification, I don’t think anyone is claiming ducati is a “good guy”. I think most of us agree that the way he talked to the punks was a little aggressive given the situation. But he was certainly not in the wrong. The one who assaulted him with the drink, the one who tried to shove him and the one who threatened to cut his throat were clearly in the wrong and they were made to suffer consequences for their choices. See this is where all of the ducati bashers lose the argument because you have to posit that he was in the wrong for: 1. Telling the other adults to STFU in an aggressive way 2. Confronting the person that threw a drink on him BTW: none of which is illegal And yet you have to excuse or condone 3. The guy throwing a drink on ducati (escalated and I believe the consensus is an assault) 4. Shoving (or trying to) ducati Definately illegal and now he initiated a physical confrontation. 5. Threatening to kill him. Definately illegal. Some others (not you) have also said that being arrested “ruined their lives”. Since when is holding people accountable for their crimes and in this case felonies a bad thing? ---

It’s actually quite possible for two parties to both be in the wrong. I don’t recall anyone condoning what the “punks” did, or more specifically what they are alleged to have done. It’s just that they didn’t come here to share the story with us. You’ve also left out the possibility that we disbelieve one or more elements of the story. Not everyone is an unbiased reporter, especially when a particular version of events seems so important to one’s aging self-esteem.
